Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, (presently Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 in the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci at just seven years old. Her first competitive event was the National Junior Championships where she placed 13th in the year 1969. In 1970, Comaneci took home the title. Three gold medals were awarded in her very first contest at a junior Olympic meet in 1972 that was held by communist bloc countries. Between 1973 and 1974 she won the junior all-round champion. At her first competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion winning four gold medals and one silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete a backward double salto as a dismount from the uneven bars parallel to each other. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment business as a performer as figure skater. With her younger sister Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the entertainment industry in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment programs Ice Capades. Ice Capades showcased performances of ice-skating by actors.
